A party, a wedding, and some progress

Wow what a busy week!
Last weekend, we went to a surprise 40th birthday party for my brother-in-law.  He was truly surprised!  We live about 2 1/2  hours away from them, and then his best friend lives about 6 hours away.  He had no clue that we were all there.
This weekend my youngest sister got married.  It was a beautiful ceremony!  Hotter than hell!!!  About 103* at 6:30 at night...and it was an outside ceremony!  The ceremony only lasted abut 20 minutes though, then we had a wonderfully, beautiful reception.

Well, other than that I went back to work after almost 2 weeks off.  That was so hard!  I really like my job...but I do miss the days when I was a stay at home mom.  Well, here is my progress and finishes for the last week.
Last week (before I went back to work), I had been working on a large project, but just wanted to do something little for instant gratification. So I took some motifs from different Lizzie Kate patterns and made needle minders out of them.  I really like the way they turned out.

This is my other progress picture.  I started this about 3 weeks ago, but really have only stitched it steadily for the last week.  I really like the ways it's going.

Well, that's it for now.  I'm going to relax and stitch until I have to go to work in a couple of hours.
Have a good weekend!

Lovely wedding pictures. Can't even think about temps of 103. We are in the low to mid 90's. Great needleminders. Heart of America is coming along nicely.
